Overview: We are delighted to showcase a recent project in Mechanicsville, VA, where we transformed a
spacious backyard into a safe, inviting, and beautifully designed outdoor haven. Our client
knew she wanted a fiberglass pool with an adjoining hardscape, but wasn’t sure how to bring
her vision to life. Safety was her top priority, especially with frequent visits from family, friends,
and grandchildren. She needed a space where everyone could relax and enjoy themselves
without worrying about safety hazards.

The project presented a unique set of challenges and considerations. The backyard was quite
large, so while the pool would occupy a significant portion, it was crucial to preserve ample
grass space for her pets to run and play. Balancing the need for extensive hardscaping with
open, green areas was key to ensuring the space remained functional for all its intended uses.

Design: During the design phase, we focused on creating a layout that would allow the homeowner to comfortably host large gatherings, enjoy her hot tub, and still have plenty of space. The design had to provide clear sightlines to keep an eye on her grandchildren, ensuring safety without compromising the beauty of the space. Additionally, we incorporated a landscape and rock bed layout that complemented the new hardscape, featuring a curved walkway that gracefully circled a Japanese maple centerpiece tree. The materials selected for this project played a significant role in achieving the desired aesthetic and functionality:

• Fiberglass Pool: We installed the Illusion 35′ Fiberglass pool from Imagine, a spacious and elegant choice that serves as the centerpiece of the outdoor space.
• Patio and Pool Deck: Techo Bloc Eva pavers in Champlain Grey were used for the patio and pool deck, providing a durable and visually appealing surface.
• Patio Border: For the border, we chose Techo Bloc Villagio pavers in Shale Grey, which added a subtle contrast and defined the space beautifully.
• Accent Walkway: The accent paver walkway was constructed using Techo Bloc Antika, adding texture and interest to the design.
• Pool Coping: To complete the look, the pool coping was done with Techo Bloc Bullnose in Shale Grey, seamlessly tying the hardscape elements together.

The end result is a stunning backyard transformation that perfectly balances the client’s need for safety, space, and beauty. The design not only meets the functional requirements but also creates an inviting and harmonious environment where family and friends can gather, relax, and
