Timeless Backyard Patio
Overview: A beautifully integrated expansion of an existing backyard patio to accommodate a growing family’s entertainment needs. The design by CleanStone Involved the construction of a new patio area using hardscape pavers and wall blocks, meticulously chosen to complement the traditional brick of the existing patio.
Location: Westhampton Area of Richmond VA
The challenge of the yard’s upward slope was ingeniously met with a stunning retaining wall, which not only became a landscaping highlight but also provided the necessary support for the patio’s longevity. The materials selected included the Belgard Highland Freestanding wall block in James River color, coupled with Belgard Origins 12 pavers in Jefferson color, framed by a 6” x 9” Belgard Origins border paver in Chocolate color.
This project stood out with its tiered landscaping bed and natural flagstone walkway, which created a harmonious transition between the new and old spaces. A garden bed served as a distinct but unifying separation, while the entire yard was subtly illuminated with low-voltage lighting, enhancing the ambiance and showcasing the oak trees’ grandeur.
